The original kitchen on the rental side was in the back of the house, but we took the back two rooms for the owner side in The Renovation. This left our rental side without a kitchen — so we turned the second sitting room into a new kitchen using the same white Shaker cabinets as our kitchen. Re-visit the layout changes.
It was like this room had been used to test paint swatches for a different project. One wall was a flat burgundy, two walls were a semi-gloss maroon and a fourth wall was semi-gloss hunter green. The ceiling paint was chipping and falling off.
In the before photos (the walls are burgundy colored in the before photos) you can see a small closet door. We removed this door and gutted the closet to make room for the corner cabinets in the kitchen.
